The Roles
We are seeking proactive and knowledgeable Regional Extension Officers (REOs) to join the CRDC and CottonInfo teams. There are four positions available across four cotton growing valleys in NSW and Queensland - Macquarie Valley (based in Narromine, Trangie or Warren), Namoi Valley (based in Narrabri), Gwydir Valley (based in Moree), and Central Qld (based in Emerald).
The four new REOs will join an established team of REOs based across the cotton growing regions. Together with the CottonInfo Program Lead and the other members of the CottonInfo team, the REOs are responsible for extending the results of cotton industry R&D within their respective valleys.
This involves becoming the trusted and respected key valley contact, providing direct support to growers and consultants, ensuring local coordination of workshops, field days and demonstrations, and acting as a valuable feedback loop for industry RD&E.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver CottonInfo extension
- Help growers and consultants adopt best practice
- Provide local support and coordination
- Build strong relationships
- Deliver research to create impact

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is local to the community and region; has cotton industry and/or extension experience; is outgoing and able to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A background in NRM is welcomed.
