CRDC R&D Manager Allan Williams is in London this week, meeting with the Better Cotton Initiative and the coffee industry to collaborate on global sustainability.
Together, the cotton and coffee industries are developing cross-sectoral indicators for the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. The Global Goals are a series of 17 goals, agreed to by the UN General Assembly in 2015, that aim to create a better world by 2030. The goals include sustainable communities, climate action, life on land, and responsible production and consumption.
Next week, Allan will travel to Côte d'Ivoire in West Africa for the 77th International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) plenary meeting. The 78th meeting will be held in Brisbane in 2019.
