Registrations open for CRDC-supported biosecurity research symposium (19 June 2019)

Registrations are now open for the inaugural Plant Biosecurity Research Initiative (PBRI) Research Symposium, supported by CRDC.

The two-day event will be held on 15-16 August 2019 at The Edge, State Library of Queensland, Brisbane.

Delivered by a wide range of research teams in Australia, the Plant Biosecurity Research Symposium will showcase current plant biosecurity research supported by the PBRI member organisations, including research on pests, diseases and weeds affecting plant productions systems and surrounding environments. The event aims to provide a forum for plant biosecurity networking and collaboration across industries. There will be keynote speakers, nominated presentations from research teams and panel discussions on future priorities for RD&E.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding between PBRI and Better Border Biosecurity, NZ (B3), the Symposium will also include presentations from New Zealand colleagues working on common biosecurity threats with the intention of future collaboration with Australian researchers.

A dedicated session on future biosecurity leaders will include presentations from up-and-coming leaders studying or working in the field of biosecurity.

All interested growers, industry representatives, researchers, students and biosecurity staff are encouraged to register for this two-day event here: www.pbri.com.au/events/

The Symposium is supported by the PBRI members, including CRDC, the Department of Agriculture, AgriFutures Australia, Forest & Wood Products Australia, the Grains Research and Development Corporation, Hort Innovation, Plant Health Australia, Sugar Research Australia, Wine Australia and the Council of Rural R&D Corporations.
